Robotics Competition in Malaysia, Highly Competitive
Typically competes among two teams, ROBOCON is a competitive robotics competition which each team employs strategic approaches to deploy their robots as well as preventing their opponent from reaching the goal.
The competition requires clever use of technology, creatively designed robots and revolutionary solution in order to win. Robocon Team in UM works together as a single entity to represent the university in competing, they work in different departments focusing on different fields of technology.
The team will interfere with various sensors such as ranging sensors and IMU. With the help of algorithm and control theory, the team program the actuator to complete the task in the contest. The robots are programmed by the team to complete the given tasks by implementing some mehanical techniques to control the operation of the robots
Involves performing detailed calculations based on mechanism design before prototyping stage. We design mechanisms by applying various engineering principles and physics concepts and draw the mechanism in CAD software to carry out simulation later.
Involves in selection of modules and components by understanding specification and the tradeoff. The team will design the connection of components that is safe and suits our case. The team will solder the components carefully to the boards to form the whole circuits and all the wirings needed for the robot.
